    At YCIS Silicon Valley, our mission aligns with Science and Technology, Culture and Arts, and Love and Charity. With this commitment, the YCIS summer camp offers a vibrant program designed to ignite curiosity, creativity, and passion for exploration.

    Our inquiry-based STEAM learning program empowers students to create, build, experiment, and uncover hidden theories through engaging hands-on projects. Conducted entirely in Chinese, students will embrace both innovation and cultural appreciation while honing their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

    From traditional Chinese Sugar Arts to designing colorful LED Circuits, from Shadow Puppet Show to Wind-Powered Cars, from Mosaic Art to Gravity-Defying Experiments, students will experience the magic where technology meets imagination. They’ll explore stories that connect science to everyday life, keep STEAM journals, and work collaboratively to solve real-world challenges.

    With science, technology, engineering, arts, and math at their fingertips, students will discover that the world of STEAM is not only fun and meaningful but also brimming with endless possibilities!

    From cooking and storytelling to dancing and designing, immerse yourself in the flavors, sights, and traditions of different cultures. Each day brings new hands-on experiences and exciting discoveries!

    Step into the world of creation at the YCIS Maker Lab, where students become inventors, designers, and builders through an exciting array of hands-on projects that blend creativity, imagination and craftmanship. This session is designed to ignite curiosity while transforming ideas into tangible, functional creations.
    Young makers will create elegant gold foil lacquer fans, build functional pulley systems, take on bridge-building challenges, construct imaginative 3D cardboard structures, craft beautiful sculptures and collages using recycled materials, experiment with chain reaction machines, design wearable electronics like light-up wristbands and punch needle arts, dive into sewing and carpentry projects, make playful rainbow twirlers, test water filtration systems, and add a personal touch with machines of button maker.

Terms and Conditions
By enrolling your child(ren) in YCIS Silicon Valley’s Summer Camp (“YCISSV Camp”), you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully.

Permission to Participate
The participant named in this form has my permission to engage in all YCISSV Camp activities, except as expressly noted in writing by me.

Waiver and Release of Liability
In consideration of acceptance of this authorization, I, on behalf of myself and my child(ren), hereby waive, release, and discharge Yew Chung International School Silicon Valley, its officers, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively “YCISSV”) from all claims, demands, and causes of action for personal injury, property damage, illness, or any other harm arising out of participation in camp activities (“ACTIVITIES”), whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the extent allowed by applicable law. This waiver applies to any claims that may arise during or after participation in the ACTIVITIES.

Assumption of Risks
I understand and accept that participation in the ACTIVITIES involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Use of classroom tools such as scissors, glue guns, and tape dispensers;
Active outdoor play and the use of playground equipment;
Physical interaction with other children; and
Possible negligence of others.
I acknowledge these risks and affirm that participation is voluntary. I knowingly assume all such risks on behalf of my child(ren).

Health and Emergency Authorization
I authorize YCISSV to:

Provide routine health care and administer prescribed medications;
Seek emergency medical treatment, including ordering x-rays or diagnostic tests, if necessary;
Arrange for emergency transportation if needed.
If I cannot be reached during an emergency, I authorize the physician selected by YCISSV to secure and administer necessary medical treatment, including hospitalization, for my child(ren). I consent to the release of medical records for insurance or treatment purposes.

Allergy and Dietary Needs Disclosure
I agree to notify YCISSV in writing of any allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions affecting my child(ren). I understand that while YCISSV will make reasonable efforts to accommodate these needs, it cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Photo and Video Authorization
I grant permission for YCISSV to take photographs and videos of my child(ren) during camp activities. These materials may be used for promotional purposes, including newsletters, brochures, social media, press releases, and websites. I understand these materials may be publicly accessible.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless
I agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend YCISSV against any claims arising from:

The “Waiver and Release of Liability” section above;
My own negligence or misconduct; and
My child(ren)’s participation in the ACTIVITIES.
I agree to reimburse YCISSV for any damages, settlements, or legal costs, including attorney’s fees, incurred as a result of such claims.

Code of Conduct and Behavior
I understand that all participants are expected to behave respectfully toward peers, staff, and property. YCISSV reserves the right to dismiss any participant whose behavior is disruptive, harmful, or otherwise inconsistent with camp policies. Dismissal for behavioral reasons will not result in a refund.

Student Dismissal Policy
I/We understand and agree to comply with all rules and regulations outlined in YCISSV’s handbooks, policies, and guidelines. YCISSV reserves the right to suspend or terminate enrollment if it determines that the actions of a student or family undermine a positive and constructive relationship with the school or interfere with its educational mission.

Transportation Authorization
If transportation is required for camp activities or emergencies, I grant permission for my child(ren) to travel in vehicles operated or arranged by YCISSV.

Public Health Acknowledgment
I acknowledge the risks associated with public gatherings, including potential exposure to illnesses such as COVID-19. I agree to comply with all YCISSV health and safety protocols, including mask-wearing, hand hygiene, and social distancing, if required. Failure to comply may result in dismissal without refund.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
I understand that cancellations and refunds are subject to YCISSV policies, which include the following:

Cancellation before May 1, 2025: Full refund minus a $180 cancellation fee per session.
Cancellation on or after May 1, 2025: No refunds will be issued.
Session date changes (if space is available) are permitted before June 1, 2025, without penalty.
No prorations for partial sessions or missed days for any reason.
Refunds for check payments will be processed in August 2025.
YCISSV reserves the right to cancel or modify programs for reasons beyond its control, such as inclement weather or public health directives. Refunds in such cases will be issued at YCISSV’s discretion.

Timely Pickup Policy
I agree to pick up my child(ren) promptly at the end of the camp or extended care sessions. A late fee of $1 per minute will be charged for late pickups. Repeated late pickups may result in dismissal from the camp without a refund.

Emergency Preparedness and Natural Disasters
I acknowledge that YCISSV has emergency protocols in place for situations such as natural disasters or lockdowns. I agree to follow all instructions and procedures communicated by YCISSV during such events.

I understand that additional forms may be required and will be sent via email upon registration. These forms must be completed and returned by the first day of camp.
